Nu al een reboot voor Twilight?
De Twilight franchise hengelde al meer dan 2 miljard dollar binnen en de vijfde film, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2, moet nota bene nog verschijnen. Lionsgate kijkt alvast naar de toekomst en denkt er volgens Bloody Disgusting serieus over om de vampierreeks te rebooten. Er wordt intern al over gesproken en het ziet er naar uit dat het echt gaat gebeuren.
Het is nog onduidelijk welke kant ze precies op willen met de herziening. In plaats van een reboot zou het ook kunnen gaan om een directe remake, een spin-off of misschien toch nog een sequel. Het probleem van de laatste optie is dat Robert Pattinson inmiddels al heeft aangegeven dat hij geen zin heeft in nog een Twilight film.

When Beca takes this acoustic singing group out of their world of traditional arrangements and perfect harmonies into all-new mash-ups, they fight to climb their way to the top of the cutthroat world of college “a cappella.” This could wind up either the coolest thing they’ll ever do or the most insane, and it will probably be a little of both.

Robert Pattinson slecht in audities
Dankzij zijn rol als vampier Edward Cullen in de Twilight-films is Robert Pattinson wereldberoemd. En dat betekent doorgaans dat je geen audities hoeft te doen om aan nieuwe filmrollen te komen.
In het geval van Pattinson maar goed ook. “Ik bak er helemaal niks van”, verklapt hij aan The Guardian.
“Ik was er altijd al slecht in”, gaat hij verder. En sinds de Twilight-reeks heeft hij het ook niet vaak meer geprobeerd. “Welgeteld twee keer.”
Pattinson was dan ook heel blij toen hij van regisseur David Crononberg voor de rol kreeg van Eric Packer in de film Cosmopolis. “Daardoor kreeg ik wel wat zelfvertrouwen en dacht: ja, ik ben een acteur en niet alleen die Twilight-jongen.”
